AIT’s Vocational Diploma of Graphic Design is a practical and future-focused program where you will learn the fundamentals of visual communication, creative digital art, dynamic web and layout design. This vocational course covers important technical concepts such as design for 2D/3D applications, UI design or manipulation of complex layouts. What To Expect
AIT’s Diploma of Graphic Design covers important technical concepts such as graphic design for 2D/3D applications, user interface design and manipulation of complex layouts, while also emphasizing professional skills such as communication, research, creative collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Upon completion, you will be ready for entry-level Graphic Design positions, such as a graphic designer, digital illustrator, web designer, UX/UI or textiles designer.

Here you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the history, theory, and practical application of visual communication. You will learn how to integrate research findings into creative work, in order to enhance design outcomes.

Creative Digital Art
Trimester 2
Graphics and Photomedia
Through hands-on experience in manipulating and enhancing graphics, you will acquire essential skills for creating visually compelling designs. Additionally, you will gain an understanding of intellectual property issues and legislation.

Professional Design Practice
Trimester 3
Multi-dimensional Design
You will explore 2D and 3D design, utilising industry-relevant software. You will plan your design approach and apply design principles skillfully to manipulate format, type, and visuals, to achieve desired outcomes and engage in collaborative analysis with peers to refine work based on feedback.

Typography and Layout Design
Trimester 4
Dynamic Web Design
In this subject, you will gain knowledge of visual and user-centered design principles, and skills in using rapid prototyping software. You will understand how to analyse user interface design requirements, apply design principles, and adhere to relevant industry frameworks.
