Credit Transfer

If you have completed relevant prior study, training and/or industry experience you may not need to enrol in the full duration of your program.

To gain Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) we need to assess evidence of previous learning, employment, industry activities and talents. The evidence must be authenticated (academic transcripts, subject outlines, references, awards), which we then compare to the subjects in your preferred program at AIT. If there is sufficient verifiable evidence you have attained all of the subject learning outcomes you may be granted credit for a subject or Unit of Competency. You apply for RPL during the application process for the program of your choice.

Credit Application Form

  • You may apply for Credit of up to 50% of your preferred program. Academic consent must be obtained from the Executive General Manager, Academic Director or Compliance Manager if you are seeking more than 50% Credit of your preferred program.
  • An application fee of $100 (non-refundable) is required at the time of application. If you are granted Credit for a subject, a tuition fee of 30% is charged. Eligible students can include this in their FEE-HELP loan.

You can apply for Credit if you have previously studied similar units, already successfully completed the same or equivalent units with another Registered Training Organisation, or have strong work experience in a similar field as your preferred program. AIT will recognise previous units of study and qualifications for current training packages and courses completed within the past 7 years.

Get in touch if you require more information in regards to VET Credit Transfer.

InitiAIT Scholarships

Every year, AIT awards scholarships to students who demonstrate an extraordinary work ethic and talent.
