The third and final year of all AIT IT courses will focus strongly on the fundamentals of preparing you for employment in the tech industry of your choice, whether that’s in web development, communications technology, as a cyber security professional, in computer science or technical support.
We’ll teach you what the IT industry is looking for and guide you in every aspect of transitioning from study to the workforce for an exciting career to look forward to. We’ll ensure you’re equipped with the right soft skills, practical skills, practical experience and project management skills you’ll need to succeed.
We’ll also provide opportunities for you to showcase your work to AIT’s industry connections and teach you how to pitch and present in a professional working environment.

At the basis of everything that happens in the tech and interactive media world is design – how to design a project, a game, a film shot – everything. It’s the same with education.
When we are building your program we make sure we have the best designers on the job. That is why we have done what so few providers have done; we have invested in an in-house Learning Design Team, a group of highly qualified educators and designers, making your IT course content engaging, accurate, current, intuitive and enjoyable.
Studying should feel seamless, and your focus should be on what you want to learn, not the tech functionality. We make sure this is apparent when you invest in AIT for your learning.
You could pursue Information Technology roles such as Mobile or Web Application Developer, Full Stack Programmer, Analyst Programmer, IT Consultant, Systems Analyst, or Systems Designer.
Information Technology students will gain confidence in using industry-standard software like Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Xcode, Android, Brackets IDE, Diagrams.net, XAMPP, Microsoft SQL Server, and Cisco Packet Tracer.

In year one, you will learn the basics of web development with fundamental languages such as HTML and CSS. In year two, you will explore advanced development techniques and interface design, along with important languages in Java development. During the final year, you’ll launch yourself into the industry as you learn about development pipelines and take your ideas to market. There are also electives you can choose, such as Artificial Intelligence, which introduces the concept of artificial intelligence (AI), a critical component in contemporary game development projects. You will develop a solid grasp of what the term “artificial” means. Artificial intelligence will be used to create gaming challenges and solutions and to construct player challenges. Through a personal research project, you will engage in scientific writing and experimental analysis, investigating AI both theoretically and technically.
While studying at AIT, you’ll be exposed to various professional experiences, learning the skills you need for your creative career while also being introduced to the industry. During the Information Technology course, you will produce a portfolio ready to present to prospective employers.

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Mobile App Development) is a 3-year full-time program, or it can be extended to up to 6 years part-time, with learning delivered two-thirds face-to-face on campus and one-third online.

Entry Requirements
Domestic applicants for the Bachelor of Information Technology (Mobile Application Development) need to have:
Successfully completed an Australian Senior Certificate of Education and achieved a grade of not less than 60% in at least one STEM subject, or equivalent certification, i.e. International Baccalaureate, or higher certification; OR
Successfully completed a Certificate IV, VET Diploma or Higher Education Diploma (or higher) in a related field.
If you don’t have the above and want to enrol please get in touch with us, as we may be able to consider your application using an alternate form of evidence, e.g. a portfolio submission.
